Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world had expressed sympathy for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
