City manager Guardiola, previously guided legends such as Lionel Messi, Iniesta, and the midfield orchestrator, has declared that the French attacker is one of the most gifted individuals he has ever witnessed and is confident the forward will buy into the team-first mentality at the club.

Cherki, who moved to the Sky Blues from the French club in a £30.5m deal ahead of the Club World Cup earlier this year, has made a mere seven games up to now. Guardiola’s Insight

Although urging time, Guardiola struggled to fully describe Cherki’s abilities, admitting that the only concern might be how he settles into the structure and learns to executing fundamental plays consistently.

“He is a player unfazed by stress when receiving the ball. He reminds me of a street footballer. He is grumpy – ‘give me the ball’ – when he doesn’t get it, obviously. He hasn’t been a brief period at the club; he needs some time since it’s vital to connect with teammates.”

When asked if Cherki can integrate within the group dynamic, the manager answered: “Without a doubt. Such individuals have great feel, very smart. They perceive it all.”

Praise for Nico

The City manager also praised the midfielder, who is likely to play in the engine room. The Spanish midfielder has travelled to his former club, and is likely celebrated pre-kickoff in Villarreal, though he misses out with a muscle problem.

He commented: “I feel that González is improving steadily. We are extremely pleased with his approach and he should keep getting better. He is well-rounded, receptive, a lovely guy. His family should be extremely pleased about the man and player he has become. He has to remain authentic, yet while competing next to world-class talent, you gain experience. You notice how you can get better, though Nico must be Nico, certainly.”

Team’s Strong Form

Guardiola also expressed delight regarding the team’s current form. “We net a lot of goals, producing a wealth of openings, and at the same time not conceding much.
