Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to lead Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club is something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative nine-season tenure that included a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown for three decades, now holds positions overseeing worldwide football for Red Bull and providing guidance for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the Premier League in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who adore the manager would be thrilled by the possibility that he may eventually return. In a wide-ranging interview, he told Steven Bartlett: “I said I will never coach any other side in England. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...yeah. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, so I could make the decision down the line, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Fortunately, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances would need to occur to draw him back to management, he revealed he isn't eager to such a return. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing during downpours for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to press conferences multiple times weekly or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, however, dining out alongside the squad talking freely, that’s nice. With many victories meaning regularly positive atmosphere in the building. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh vividly recalled as an instance.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, crediting him for the adjustments that took the title last campaign. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the suggestion of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, critics will regret with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. Ekitike, excellent performer. They have a strong well-judged squad. Fans shouldn't fret regarding the Reds, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

He shared movingly regarding the passing of Diogo Jota, whom he brought in while in charge, and its impact for the team. Jota was killed in a road accident with his brother in July.

“How do you replace such an individual? It’s not about the player himself, it's his character. I struggle to conceive the dressing room missing him. I find it difficult to discuss about it. A devastating blow for his teammates too. Not a single person will ever use it as an excuse yet it's the reality. Being in that space which he filled completely. Handling this on a personal level is difficult. Impossible.”
