The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The newest action-packed title that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted on October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing chaos and insanity with the same glee, all while presenting gripping, politically driven tales. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose creations have embodied all of those elements.
About the Series
Based on Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also mirror the video games' structure by featuring a different location and group of personalities in every instalment.
Creative Minds
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
We’ve shared magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also feature in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.
“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, trusting us with one of the most iconic video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX family constantly supports me with their constant confidence and support.”
“What I love about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology show. Each game is a take of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can evolve from year to year, while always delving into the core of society through this intricate and chaotic perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and bring our common irreverent, visionary style to the audience.”
A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
