The incident led to the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
